Water Instructions For New Plant Installations
You will need to water each plant with an open end hose each day for 10 days.  The amount of water needed is based on the size of the plant. A 1 gallon container plant needs about 1-2 gallons of water per day, 3 gallon container plants need about 3-5 gallons of water per day, ect. for container plants.  Trees or larger container plants, i.e. 6-8' B&B Trees would need about 10-15 gallons of water per day, 8-10' B&B Trees need about 15-20 gallons of water per day, need that amount of water over a period of several hours throughout the day.  Check you invoice or call me if you are unsure of the size or if you have questions concerning watering.

After the initial 10 day water program, you measure the water a week at a time.  ONE INCH of RAIN a WEEK is needed for the plant to grow and not be stressed.  Water or supplement the rainfall with additional water.  Keep temperatures in mind.  If it is hot, more water is needed.  If windy conditions exist, do not forget to water because this is an additional drying factor.  In the winter, if it is dry, water when temperatures are above freezing and before a hard freeze.

To measure the amount of water produced from your water hose, time how long it takes to fill a gallon container.  Take this time as an indicator for how long you need to water each plant.
